Inside oil-injected screw compressors, the oil separator acts as the final protective barrier. Larger droplets in the oil-air mixture exiting the compressor can be removed by physical means, yet the tiniest suspended oil particles demand coalescing filter material for capture. If this barrier is compromised, oil mist will migrate downstream with the compressed air, resulting in higher oil consumption, added strain on after-treatment devices, and poorer air quality.
The element is engineered to sustain separation performance throughout its working life, rather than intervening only after a blockage alarm. Its filtration core consists of a corrosion-resistant, high-efficiency ultrafine fiber coalescing medium. It ensures that all solid particles larger than 3 μm in the compressor discharge are filtered out. Meanwhile, oil-water-gas aerosols of roughly 0.01–1 μm are coalesced into larger droplets, which settle at the bottom and are drawn back to the lubrication system through the return pipe by siphon action.
