The separation process follows the coalescence principle. Initially, the oil‑gas stream from the compressor strikes the vessel wall, reducing its velocity and causing coarse oil drops to fall to the bottom under gravity – this is the primary stage, handled by element 22705‑7. The pre‑separated gas then enters the secondary element 122117‑7, where fine oil aerosols are trapped and coalesced within the glass fibre medium. The agglomerated drops then migrate to the sump and are recycled back to the compressor's lubricating circuit through the return line.
