This 11403N-18001 separator sits between your compressor pump and the discharge line. It stops oil mist from riding out with the air, so your pipes stay dry and your aftercooler doesn't gum up.
The cartridge uses a wound glass fiber pack with a molded rubber rim that centers itself inside the tank. No need to measure or shim - drop it in, turn it, and it seats. The seal ring is bonded to the end cap, so it won't roll out of place.
Change it when your air tools start spitting a fine oil haze, or once a year in light duty. You'll use less makeup oil and stop cleaning sticky residue off your valves and hoses.
