For oil-flooded screw compressors, the separator element represents the last filtration stage. Mechanical separation removes coarser droplets, yet the finest suspended oil mist can only be trapped by coalescing media. If this stage fails, mist escapes downstream, increasing oil consumption, overburdening post-treatment equipment, and compromising air quality.
The element is designed to keep separation efficiency stable throughout its service life, not to wait for a clogging alarm. Its filtration core is a corrosion-resistant, high-efficiency ultrafine fiber coalescing material. It fully retains solid particles above 3 μm, while oil-water-gas aerosols of roughly 0.01–1 μm coalesce into larger droplets. These droplets gather at the bottom and are siphoned through the return oil line back to the lubrication system, so the compressor discharges purer compressed air.
