Within oil-injected screw compressors, the oil separator functions as the final barrier. In the oil-air stream exiting the compression chamber, mechanical separation handles larger droplets, but submicron suspended oil mist can only be captured by coalescing media. Should this barrier fail, oil mist travels downstream with the discharge air, resulting in lubricant loss, greater strain on after-treatment components, and reduced air quality.
Rather than reacting only after a blockage alarm sounds, this element sustains consistent separation performance throughout its working life. Its filtration core consists of a corrosion-resistant, high-efficiency ultrafine fiber coalescing material. Solid particles exceeding 3 μm in the compressor discharge are fully retained, while microscopic oil-water-gas aerosols in the 0.01–1 μm range merge into larger droplets as they pass through the element. These droplets gather at the bottom and are drawn back into the lubrication circuit via the oil return pipe, allowing the compressor to produce cleaner compressed air.
