1. Deep filtration

The filter media is relatively loose, the gap between the fiber and the fiber is large, when the average particle size of dust in 1μm, part of the fine particles will enter the filter media internal retention down, the other part will wear the filter material escape out. Most of the dust is attached to the surface of the filter material, forming a filter layer, which will filter the dust in the dust flow down. And enter the fine particles inside the filter material, will make the resistance increase, the filter material becomes hard, until the scrap. This type of filtration is called deep filtration, which is not suitable for the glass industry.

2. Surface filtration

In loose on one side of the dusty gases, filter material contact adhesive layer of microporous membrane, the gap between the fiber only 0.1 ~ 0.2 mu m, if the dust of the average particle size is 1 mu m, filtering operations, almost all dust will be blocked on microporous membrane surface, tiny dust can't enter the filter material, this way of filtering is often referred to as surface layer filtration. Surface filtration is an ideal filtration technology, it can further improve the efficiency of dust removal, reduce the pressure loss of filter media, reduce the power consumption of dust removal system. This kind of filtration is suitable for glass industry.
