Fault diagnosis of the gas valve of reciprocating compressors

The working environment of the compressor air valve is the most complex among all components. Due to high temperature, friction, high pressure and a corrosive working environment, the air valve is frequently damaged.

The damage of the air valve can roughly be divided into three types, namely leakage, spring failure and fracture. The air valves of reciprocating compressors are prone to leakage faults. There are many reasons for the leakage of air valves, mainly caused by defects in assembly and design. Under normal circumstances, it can be judged based on the temperature. If there is a leakage in the air valve, the temperature will definitely increase. The air valves of the compressor are divided into two types. When the suction valve leaks air, the temperature of the valve cover will rise. When the exhaust valve leaks, the temperature at the exhaust port will increase. Therefore, frequently checking the temperature changes of the valve cover and the exhaust port can help identify potential leakage hazards. The air valve of reciprocating compressors is prone to spring failure. Errors occurred during the manufacturing process of the gas valve spring, loopholes emerged during its installation, and violations were carried out during its use, all of which led to the failure of the spring. Whether the gas valve spring has failed can be determined based on the vibration frequency of the cylinder block. Spring failure will cause an increase in the vibration amplitude and noise of the compressor. Over time, it will affect the service life of other parts and even the entire equipment.

The air valves of reciprocating compressors are prone to breakage faults. The breakage of the gas valve is mainly caused by the unreasonable materials and manufacturing processes used in the production of the gas valve. In addition, if the gas produced during the operation of the compressor contains corrosive substances, it will also accelerate the breakage speed of the Rouen gas valve. When there are relatively obvious changes in the temperature of the air valve and the vibration of the cylinder block, it indicates that the air valve has broken and must be replaced; otherwise, it will cause damage to other components.
