Which or several filter methods should be used when designing and using hydraulic systems should be considered according to the type of hydraulic components, working condition, and cost of hydraulic.In order to facilitate customer design and use, the advantages and disadvantages of different hydraulic filter filtration methods are summarized as follows, for reference:

Merit

Defect

Pressure oil filter

1. Installed at the pump outlet to directly protect the downstream precision hydraulic components;

2. It is relatively less sensitive to the pressure drop, so the filter volume is relatively small.

1. Filtration is required to withstand high pressure, expensive;

2. The pump is not protected;

3. Control and execute component wear pollutants directly back to the fuel tank.

Return oil filter

1. The hydraulic system returns to the oil tank to clean the oil tank;

2. Low pressure level and price offset;

3. Insert into the fuel tank to save space.

1. The upstream of precision hydraulic components shall be separately protected by a pressurized oil filter;

2. Large oil pulsation affects the filtration accuracy and makes the filter easily damaged;

Oil suction filter

1. Protect the pump directly.

1. Affected by pump suction, oil suction filter volume is large, filtration accuracy is low.

Suction oil filter

1. The return oil is directly sucked away after filtration, and the filter has high utilization rate, low system cost, and good oil absorption effect.

1. Oil circulation has high requirements on system heat dissipation and oil.

Bypass filter

1. Independent from the main system and stable flow;

2. High precision filtration.

1. High cost.
