Positioned inside compressed air or gas after-treatment filter/separators, the 100x600 coalescing filter element performs the primary coalescing separation function.

Key Functions:

Micro-droplet Coalescence: Captures and coalesces dispersed emulsified micro-droplets (water or oil) from the gas or liquid stream into larger droplets. The ultra-fine fibers create a tortuous path for the airflow, capturing droplets via three mechanisms-inertial impaction, diffusional interception, and direct interception-while surface tension causes the small droplets to merge into larger ones.

Solid Particle Interception: Simultaneously with coalescence, the multi-layer filter media intercepts solid particulate contaminants, creating a clean environment for subsequent demulsification and coalescence.

Preparation for Secondary Separation: The enlarged droplets settle by gravity into the collection sump at the bottom of the separator, or final droplet removal is completed by a downstream separation filter element (e.g., the FLX series).

System Position:
Typically installed in the filter/separator located downstream of the dryer and upstream of the precision filter, it serves as the first fine separation stage for oil and water removal. Its function differs from the oil separator element inside the compressor's main oil separator tank: the main oil separator element handles high-concentration oil mist in the compressor discharge, whereas the 100x600 coalescing element processes residual trace oil-water aerosols in the after-treatment pipeline.
