The oil‑gas separator works on the coalescence principle. The oil‑air mixture moves radially inward through the filter element. As it enters the glass fiber layer, fine oil mist is captured and merges into larger droplets, which then sink to the bottom by gravity. An oil return tube, placed about 2–3 mm above the bottom center, draws off the separated oil and returns it to the compressor's lubrication system. The cleaned air exits through the central outlet, with the oil carryover kept below 3 ppm.
Replace the oil‑gas separator without delay if its differential pressure exceeds 0.7 bar or if the unit controller signals an "oil separator clogged" alarm. Also inspect the element when a distinct rise in exhaust oil content is noticed-for instance, frequent oil carryover in downstream filters or rapid silica gel discoloration in the dryer.
