Key Roles:

Micro-droplet Coalescence: Emulsified micro-droplets (water or oil) dispersed in the fluid are trapped and merged into larger drops on the ultra-fine fiber surface. These fibers create a winding path, enabling droplet capture via inertial impaction, diffusional interception, and direct interception, while surface tension drives the merging process.

Solid Particle Interception: Alongside coalescence, the multi-layered media traps solid contaminants, providing a clean basis for downstream demulsification and further coalescing.

Preparation for Secondary Separation: Gravity causes the enlarged drops to fall into the sump at the separator's base, or they are finally removed by the downstream FLX-100*600 separation element.

Usually placed in the filter/separator positioned between the dryer and the precision filter, it acts as the initial fine separation stage for removing oil and water.
