Why a Compressor Needs It
In an oil-injected screw compressor, lubricant is injected directly into the air end and takes part in compression, so the discharged gas carries a heavy load of oil mist. If this goes into the piping untreated, it contaminates downstream equipment and steadily drains the lubricant supply. The oil separator element is the interception stage built for this job.
How Separation Happens
Oil-laden gas enters the separator tank and passes through the element. The fiberglass media intercept the mist, and fine droplets gather and merge into larger ones on the fiber surface. Gravity pulls these droplets down to the bottom of the element, and the oil return line carries them back to the lubrication system for reuse. The gas moves downstream with very little oil left in it.

The element uses multi-layer fiberglass media, refined layer by layer from outside to inside - the outer layer coalesces, the inner layer performs fine filtration.
