The performance degradation of an oil-gas separator is not a gradual process. As the internal ultra-fine glass fiber filter layer becomes progressively clogged with sludge and carbon deposits, the oil content in the exhaust gas may remain below 3 ppm until the pressure differential rises to a critical point. Once the filter layer fails, the oil content can jump from 3 ppm to over 10 ppm within hours, rapidly saturating downstream precision filters and contaminating air-using equipment with oil-all without any predictability.
The 70539 is designed to address this "unpredictable failure." It is a heavy-duty oil-gas separator specifically designed for screw air compressors and is interchangeable with parts in the same series, such as 59180, 10525274, 98262/194, 98262/162, and 11427474.
