A fine-pitch threaded base plate at the bottom of the canister engages directly with the oil filter housing port on the compressor frame. This thread configuration forms a dependable mechanical and sealing interface, preventing lubricant bypass around the gasket face during normal operating pressure and temperature conditions. The thread engagement allows the entire canister to be removed and replaced in a single motion using standard filter wrench tools, without draining oil from the compressor circuit beforehand - the sealed canister retains all captured contaminants inside during removal for clean disposal.
