For the compressor unit: It filters out harmful particles, preventing serious malfunctions such as wear, jamming, and seizure.
For the compressor oil: It keeps the oil clean and extends its service life.
For the entire machine: It ensures effective lubrication, cooling, and sealing, improving operational reliability and reducing failure rates and maintenance costs.
Key points to note:
Regular replacement: The oil filter is a consumable. A clogged filter can trigger a differential pressure alarm or cause the bypass valve to open (allowing unfiltered oil to enter the main unit directly, which is extremely dangerous). It should typically be replaced after 2000-4000 operating hours or simultaneously with the engine oil and oil separator.
Use genuine parts: Inferior oil filters have poor filtration accuracy, short lifespan, and inaccurate bypass valve opening pressure, which can damage the machine.
Installation precautions: When replacing, ensure the sealing ring is intact and apply engine oil to prevent leakage; the new oil filter should be filled with clean engine oil before installation (for some models) to avoid insufficient oil supply during startup.
If you experience excessive oil filter differential pressure alarms, high temperatures due to poor oil return, or abnormal oil consumption (possibly due to a damaged oil filter allowing oil to enter the air passage), it is recommended to check or replace the oil filter promptly.
