The design principle of suction filter elements is consistently stated in all hydraulic textbooks: the precision of suction filter elements should not be too high.
The reason is simple-the suction port is a negative pressure zone. If the filter element is too dense, the resistance to oil flow will increase significantly, consequently reducing the pump's suction performance. In extreme cases, the pump may be unable to draw in oil, leading to cavitation and noise. Therefore, suction filter elements generally employ a coarse filtration design, with a filtration precision typically between 80–180 μm.
The WU-100×100's 100 μm precision falls precisely within this balance range-protecting the pump without affecting suction efficiency. It can intercept the most threatening large particulate impurities in the system (such as welding slag residue from assembly and metal shavings generated during initial gear wear) while ensuring sufficient flow area and low pressure drop. The filter media is made of glass fiber, combined with a stainless steel frame, maintaining stability within a temperature range of -30℃ to 110℃.
Its biggest difference from other models in the same series lies in its flow rate-the rated flow rate of 100L/min corresponds to the needs of small and medium-sized hydraulic stations and light-duty equipment, rather than large metallurgical or mining machinery.
