The coalescing principle employed by this filter element operates through a systematic process of capture, merging, and drainage. As contaminated compressed air passes through the element, fine oil mist and water droplets are entrapped within the filter media structure. These captured droplets gradually merge and grow in size through the coalescing action, eventually forming large enough liquid masses that gravity pulls them downward to the bottom of the filter housing. An automatic or manual drain valve at the housing base then expels the collected liquid, preventing re-entrainment into the cleaned air stream. This continuous separation cycle maintains consistent air quality delivery throughout the element service interval.
